LEAFHouse Emerges

Since January, 2006 I have been an advisor to the University of Maryland's Solar Decathlon team. The project, dubbed "LEAFHouse," is now under construction, on schedule for a summer completion in time for testing and calibrating. The competition is October 12 through 20, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Twenty University teams will compete in ten contests with their 800-square-foot houses powered entirely by the sun. LEAF stands for "Leading Everyone to an Abundant Future," which is just what this team of well over 150 students, faculty, professional advisors, suppliers, craftspeople, and industry leaders is doing.
